You're way more transparent than I am. I still don't give a real name and my self portraits are all shadows. Good on you and nice to put a face to the name.
Fred Adams: Maybe brave or foolhardy of me I'm not sure, but only fair given what I occasionally put others through!
I can only join everyone else in saying how nice it is to meet your Fred, a fine self portrait.
Fred Adams: Thank you kindly Brian - appreciated - I'm afraid being a newcomer, I have missed most of the formal SC introductions though I do now recognise a few contributors!
ok, so Fred, this is another fantastic shot... tell me were you using off camera flash? umbrella and so on?? great lighting, am guessing maybe a grid spot was involved to focus the light one one side, a dark reflector to kill the light on the other side?? love it!!
Fred Adams: Thanks Dami - very impressed with your blog also - was your NYC trip photography based then or was the demo purely opportunistic? Non of the above methods was involved - am very lucky to have a NW facing window in our living room which means soft daylight most of the day - just a case of setting up a backdrop (badly ironed) and facing the right way to catch the light.
hahahahaha!! thats what i call creative lighting!!! Well I was in Cleveland Ohio for work, and organised to stop off in NYC. I discovered the demo was happening while I was there so very lucky indeed.
Fred Adams: Yes, I still have a lot to learn ref studio lighting but don't really have the need, as yet! Look forward to seeing some of your other NYC pics!
